Your diamond isn’t in PowerPoint. It’s in the park.

You’re the expert. You know your stuff.
So… you want to do it well.
And so… you open your laptop.
Wrong move. That screen will block you. You’ll recycle an old deck you’re already tired of. Rearranging some slides. And feel it? You’re going in circles.

A great presentation starts in your head or in your heart. Not on your screen.
Step away from the laptop. Grab a notebook. Go for a walk. Let your mind wander. Brainstorm on paper.
Ask yourself:

  • What do I want my audience to feel, understand, remember?
  • What surprising link do I have with this topic?
  • What story, quote, or image really sticks?

You’re digging for diamonds. Your key message. Your essence.

Ever heard of the Rule of Three? TTT
Tell them what you’re going to tell.
Tell it.
Tell them what you told.
Sounds simple. Works like magic.
Repetition is learning and the key to memory.
Your yoga teacher knows it. Chris Anderson (TED Talks) knows it.
Your audience? They need the reminders.

What do you want them to remember tomorrow?
That’s your compass. What would go on your imaginary billboard? Once you know that...
Then you may open PowerPoint. And then you start building your story.
